" Un profesor a arătat studenţilor săi o foaie albă de hârtie, în mijlocul căreia se afla un punct negru, şi i-a întrebat:
- Ce vedeţi?
- Un punct, a răspuns primul student.
- O pată neagră, a zis al doilea.
- Un punct negru foarte gros, a răspuns al treilea student.

După ce profesorul le-a ascultat părerile, i-a atenţionat:
- Aţi văzut toţi doar un punct, dar nimeni nu a observat o coală mare de hârtie! Iar acesta este modul în care noi judecăm un om: după defectele sale minore! "
